Susie Towber

About Out Principal

Susie Towber is so excited to start her 11th year as Lawson’s principal.  Educating McKinney’s youngest learners is her passion.  Mrs. Towber graduated from Adelphi University in NY with her teaching degree and began teaching kindergarten in New York.  After moving to Texas, she taught third grade in Richardson, Texas.  She received a master’s degree in Mid-Level Management and a second master’s degree in Exercise Physiology from Texas Women’s University.  For the past 20 years Mrs. Towber and her family have lived in McKinney where she started as an assistant principal at Minshew Elementary and 3 years later became the principal.  Her dream came true when she was named the principal of Lawson.

"When you think of passion, you think of Mrs. Towber. She cares as deeply for her students as she cares for her own child. She cares as deeply for her staff, as she does her own family. She has a true gift in growing leaders in her staff and students. When watching Susie lead and teach, you can tell that she wants absolutely nothing more than for the littlest of learners in MISD to be successful, lifelong learners from their time at Lawson and beyond."- Justin Bourgeois-Delgado, Instructional Coach

"Susie Towber has a big heart for McKinney's littlest learners. She wants the world to know that they can achieve and how important a high-quality early childhood experience is for their learning development. As an administrator, she is positive and caring; making people feel appreciated. Is her specialty. There is absolutely nothing she won't do to show Lawson students and staff how amazing they are."- Kelly McKee, Assistant Principal

"She is very hands-on! You will consistently see her teaching and supporting staff and students around the school. Mrs. Towber's main strength is her positive attitude. She is always able to see the positive aspect of every single situation and that makes a huge difference in our teaching community. I am honored to have Mrs. Towber as a leader of Lawson."- Summer Lindsay, LMS
