MISD Welcomes Robert Quach as Assistant Principal at McKinney High School

The McKinney Independent School District (MISD) is excited to announce the appointment of Robert Quach as an assistant principal at McKinney High School. Quach brings 19 years of educational experience to his new role, including 11 years as a campus administrator at both middle and high school levels in Frisco and Garland ISDs.

Quach has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership throughout his career. He has served as a middle and high school summer school principal and has extensive experience as a campus testing coordinator for local, state, and national assessments. Additionally, he has overseen critical campus programs, including Special Education, English Learners, and Section 504 programs.

“I am so excited to be joining the McKinney Lion family and working under the guidance and leadership of Principal Shelly Spaulding,” Quach shared. “I am honored and humbled to have been chosen to be part of an elite team of students, faculty, and staff. I look forward to learning the McKinney way and celebrating its traditions, both old and new! Go Lions!”

Quach began his teaching career at South Garland High School, teaching 9th-grade Geometry and Algebra 1. He later transitioned to the Classical Center at Brandenburg Middle School, where he taught 8th-grade math, including Pre-Algebra and Algebra 1. In 2013, Quach was named Secondary Teacher of the Year for Garland ISD. He also received Employee of the Year honors at Naaman Forest High School in both 2017 and 2018, an award selected by the school’s faculty and staff.

After seven years in the classroom, Quach transitioned into campus administration, serving at Austin Academy for Excellence, North Garland High School, Naaman Forest High School, and Sachse High School. After 15 years with Garland ISD, he joined Frisco ISD as an administrator at Frisco High School before becoming part of McKinney High School’s administrative team in 2022.

Quach holds a bachelor's degree in business administration and finance from Southern Methodist University, a master's degree in higher education administration from the University of Kansas, and a master's degree in educational administration from Texas A&M University-Commerce. In 2012, he was accepted into the doctoral program in Educational Leadership at TAMU-Commerce and completed his superintendent certification in 2015. He holds Texas certifications in Superintendent, Principal, Mathematics, Special Education, English as a Second Language, and Gifted/Talented education.

Currently, Quach contributes to MISD through various committees and serves as the Region 10C Representative and Board Member for the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals.
