Immunizations
State Vaccine Requirements and Charts
State law requires students in Texas schools to be immunized against certain vaccine-preventable diseases.
The State of Texas does allow for exemptions to the immunization requirements based on medical need or reasons of conscience; however both types of exemptions require proper documentation.
Students cannot go to school without the appropriate documentation for the required vaccines or a valid medical or conscientious exemption. This is required in order to find out a student’s teacher at Elementary Meet the Teacher Night or to pick up his or her class schedule at secondary schools.
Below is information on the required immunizations, exemptions and clinics for access to vaccines and flu shots.
Call your school nurse if you have any questions or contact the school campus to obtain a copy of your child’s school immunization record. Former students who are 18 years or older must request their own immunization records.
