McKinney ISD's campus learning commons are essential interactive collaborative learning environments, ever-evolving to provide equitable physical and virtual access to ideas, information, and learning tools for the entire school community. 

Mission

McKinney ISD's certified Library Media Specialists and trained staff, nurture a culture of literacy and inquiry throughout the campus community. An integral part of instructional teams, Library Media Specialists are teacher-leaders who collaborate with educators on curriculum design and delivery. They maintain a professionally developed collection of print and digital materials to reflect the diverse needs and interests of their patrons and assist learners in locating resources that match their academic needs and personal curiosities. Library Media Specialists model and teach information literacy and digital citizenship, empowering all learners to make ethical, informed choices in an increasingly complex and evolving global environment.

Hours

The SJMS Learning Commons is open daily from 8:15 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. However, please note that these hours are subject to change due to campus activities.
