The McKinney ISD Board of Trustees approved the 2025–2026 MISD school calendar at their regular meeting on Monday, December 16. The 2025-2026 school year will begin on August 12, and will conclude on May 21, with graduation for all three high schools planned for May 22 at the Credit Union of Texas Event Center in Allen.

McKinney ISD Administration recently surveyed students, parents, and staff members to gain a better understanding of their preferred start and end time for the 2025-2026 school year. The survey provided two options that would work for our district's transportation system and overwhelmingly the students, parents, and staff voted for the schedule below. You will notice that high school has 10 additional minutes added to their school day and that is so they can keep early release days during the semester exams.

Below are the start times for the 2025-2026 school year:

Elementary School: 8:10 am - 3:20 pm
Middle School: 8:50 am - 4:00 pm
High School: 7:20 am - 2:40 pm
Lawson: 7:40 am - 2:50 pm
