McKinney, Texas - McKinney ISD is pleased to announce that Scott Johnson Middle School Assistant Principal Grace Roberts has been chosen as the new principal of Wilmeth Elementary. A seasoned educator with a wealth of experience gleaned over 18 years in education, Roberts brings a strong background in leadership, discipline and community engagement to her new role.

A Dallas native and graduate of Y.A. Ewell Townview Magnet High School, Roberts began her career in 2007 as a special education math and ELAR teacher in Dallas ISD and has served in a variety of roles throughout her career, including assistant principal at alternative campuses and most recently as an assistant principal at Scott Johnson Middle School.

Her work in district-wide initiatives related to discipline, attendance and safety reflects her commitment to creating positive learning environments for all students. In 2020, Roberts was recognized as the Region 10 Assistant Principal of the Year by the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals (TASSP).

Passionate about education and grounded in a "whole person" leadership philosophy, Roberts remains deeply connected to the McKinney community, and she is excited to bring her experience and vision to Wilmeth Elementary, where she is committed to continuing the school’s legacy of excellence.

“I am deeply honored by the incredible opportunity to serve as the new principal of Wilmeth Elementary School,” said Roberts. “It is a true privilege to become part of a community that values education, collaboration, and the well-being of every child. With humility and great excitement, I look forward to supporting our exceptional staff, partnering with families, and championing the success of all students. Wilmeth has a strong foundation, and I am eager to help build upon it—one step, one student, one day at a time.”

McKinney ISD is confident that Roberts' leadership will have a lasting impact on Wilmeth Elementary, helping the school continue its commitment to academic excellence and student success.

Roberts earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of North Texas and later completed a master’s degree in educational administration and a superintendent certification.
