McKinney, Texas — McKinney ISD is excited to announce that district and campus leaders are trained and certified in Jon Gordon’s Power of a Positive Team training — a dynamic program designed to strengthen teamwork, collaboration, and culture in any environment.
This initiative builds upon Superintendent Pratt’s vision to cultivate cohesive, high-performing teams that are united in purpose, equipped to overcome challenges together, and forward focused on the future of McKinney ISD. The training emphasizes the essential habits and strategies that lead to stronger relationships, improved communication, and a shared commitment to excellence.
“Strong teams are the heartbeat of any successful school or organization,” said Pratt. “The Power of a Positive Team work supports our leaders in building cultures of trust, purpose, and accountability. When our teams thrive, our students and staff thrive.”
Created by best-selling author and speaker Jon Gordon, the Power of a Positive Team program provides leaders with a practical framework for developing and sustaining team unity. Core topics include building trust and connection, navigating adversity as a team, embracing a shared vision, and maintaining positivity under pressure.
Throughout the training, MISD leaders engaged in reflective dialogue, collaborative exercises, and real-life case studies to explore how positive teams achieve excellence together. The focus on mindset, culture, and purposeful leadership provided powerful tools for strengthening school teams and empowering staff.
Leaders who completed the training have already begun implementing these strategies to reinforce team alignment and deepen collaboration at their campuses and within departments.
McKinney ISD remains committed to developing leaders at every level. By investing in research-based programs like The Power of a Positive Team, the district continues to prioritize professional growth, leadership, and a culture where every team member contributes to a shared vision of success.
