During the 2023-2024 Bennett Elementary's campus improvement plan was updated. A campus level committee met several times over the course of the year to review the goals, performance objectives, major classroom instructional programs, and provide feedback. This committee is made up of campus-based professional staff, district-level professional staff, parents, business representatives, and community members.
McKinney ISD has outlined several pillars as the foundation for their current goals. These include safe and collaborative culture, effective teaching, organizational effectiveness, and the development of the whole child. Based on these ideals, Bennett Elementary set two campus goals.
Campus Improvement Plan Goal #1: Teaching & Learning by Design
Bennett Elementary will develop and implement relevant educational opportunities to support academic success in all student groups and lead all individuals to their greatest capacity for learning.
Campus Improvement Plan Goal #2: Save and Collaborative Culture
Bennett Elementary will provide a safe and positive environment to establish a transparent, open, honest, and trusting relationship where parents, students, and staff are valued, as well as equip all members with strategies necessary to face any challenge.
Campus data was reviewed and the following goals were set forth.
Bennett Elementary will ensure the campus is safe and secure.
Bennett Elementary will use data driven decisions to engage studnets in learning experiences that ensure growth and will prepare them for graduation and post-secondary success.
Bennett Elementary will continue to recruit, recognize, develop, and retain high-quality, effective staff.
Bennett Elementary will intentionally focus on maintaining a culture that is inclusive of students, staff, and community.
Bennett Elementary will ensure that communication internally and externally is consistent, accurate, and timely.
Bennett Elementary will continue to be fiscally responsible and efficient with district and campus resources.
Because of the work put forth from this committee, and the staff during the year, Bennett Elementary was award recognition for reaching HRS Level 3 in the summer of 2024. This ensures that Bennett Elementary has a guaranteed and viable curriculum being used to support academic success. Level 1 and 2 were previously awarded recognizing Bennett Elementary for a safe and collaborative culture, and for effective teaching in every classroom respectively.
