Principal's Message
Good evening, Lions! This weather has put a damper on our track season. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we reschedule events. Special Olympics will now be held on May 1st. Our 6th grade Theater Club will have their performance, “Bedtime Stories” this weekend, so stop by and check them out.
We will have our A Honor Roll and Lion Pride Awards on Monday. Please note the change in structure. We will now combine 7th and 8th into one assembly starting at 9:35 am. Sixth grade will start at 8:45 am. If your child is receiving a Lion Pride Award or made A Honor Roll, you should have received an email with an invitation.
Next Wednesday, we will be kicking off STAAR testing with a campus wide Reading test. Please ensure that your child goes to bed at a reasonable hour in the next few days, eats a healthy breakfast day of, and comes with a charged laptop (charger in hand) for the day of the test. Students will not be allowed to read until the entire class has completed their test. We find that our avid readers rush through testing, and students will also pass books around causing a distraction.
Lastly, please please remember that our carpool line closest to our building is a moving line, even before 8:15 am. If you want to park, and wait with your child until we open our doors. We ask that you park in a parking space to allow other families to drop off and move on with their morning.
I wanted to say a huge THANK YOU to all of our students that made me feel extra loved today. I am celebrating a BIG birthday this weekend (and in denial). My office is obnoxiously decorated, everyone is wearing black, and our students sang to me several times. It has been an amazingly blessed day! Thank you!
