Mornings getting children off to school on time can be hectic. Here are some tips for making it easier.
Prepare as much as possible the night before–clothes, shoes, bath, lunches. Have everything laid out and ready to go! Routines and consistency work magic!
Wake up early enough to get yourself ready before trying to get kids ready.
If kids have a hard time getting started, use a visual schedule. Knowing each step along the way empowers children.
Avoid screen time for yourself and your child before school. Focus on being in the moment with your child. Talk about their day and what you’ll do after school.
Download your calm. If a child sees that you’re upset or agitated, they will be too. Deep breaths all around. Big hugs and lots of smiles to start the day off right!
Have a little snack ready. All our students eat breakfast at school, but getting something in their stomachs early will set them up for a good morning.
