McKinney High School Royal Pride Band Launches Shoe Drive Fundraiser to Raise Money for the 2025-2026 Band Program
The McKinney High School Royal Pride band is conducting a shoe drive fundraiser on Saturday, January 18th 2025, from 2:00-4:00pm to raise funds for RPB band program. The Royal Pride Band will earn funds based on the total weight of the pairs of gently worn, used and new shoes collected, as Funds2Orgs will issue a check for the collected shoes. Those dollars will benefit the RPB. Anyone can help by donating gently worn, used and new shoes at McKinney High School South East Parking Lot at 1400 Wilson Creek Pkwy, McKinney, Tx 75069.
All donated shoes will then be redistributed throughout the Funds2Orgs network of micro-enterprise (small business) partners. Funds2Orgs works with micro-entrepreneurs in helping them create, maintain and grow small businesses in developing countries where economic opportunity and jobs are limited. Proceeds from the sales of the shoes collected in shoe drive fundraisers are used to feed, clothe and house their families. One budding entrepreneur in Haiti even earned enough to send her son to law school.
"We are excited about our shoe drive," said Melisa Kruckeberg, VP of Fundraising. "We know that most people have extra shoes in their closets they would like to donate to us. By doing so, we raise money for the Royal Pride Band, and we have the chance to help families in developing nations who need economic opportunities. It's a win-win for everyone.”
By donating gently worn, used and new shoes to the McKinney High School Royal Pride Band, the shoes will be given a second chance and make a difference in people’s lives around the world.
About McKinney High School Royal Pride Band
The Royal Pride Band is a part of the ORIGINAL McKinney ISD Band Program, established in 1915. The McKinney High School Band is made up of 250 talented students, all of whom are dedicated to their craft and to representing their school with excellence. Your support would help us provide our students with high-quality instruments, uniforms, master-level music education, and equipment, as well as cover travel expenses and other competition-related costs. Our band offers financial aid to those in our school who cannot cover the fees necessary to be a part of this prestigious program. We believe all children should have access to quality music education, and we ensure that everyone within our community has that access regardless of family means and income. This past summer, the McKinney High School Wind Ensemble advanced to the TMEA State Semi Finals in Class 6A, finishing in the top 12, and is a frequent Commended Winner in the Mark of Excellence National Wind Band Honors. The Wind Ensemble was recently selected to perform at the 2025 Music for All National Festival. The Royal Pride Band has been selected to perform at the 2026 St. Patrick's Day Parade in Ireland.
For more information about this fundraiser or the MHS Royal Pride Band, contact Melisa Kruckeberg at 972-898-4647 or by email at fundraising@royalprideband.org.
