Students and staff had fun celebrating College Week this week!
The purpose of College Week is to learn about goal setting, exploring options for the future, and the importance of higher education.
On our daily morning announcements broadcast, different Slaughter teachers shared information about their colleges. Students and staff were invited to participate in daily dress-up themes.
Fifth grade students participated in a special presentation with a guest speaker from the University of North Texas. The speaker taught students about college vocabulary terms and answer questions about postsecondary education.
The staff wrapped up the week with a special college food themed potluck in the staff lounge.
The next dress-up week will be coming Red Ribbon Week, Oct. 28 - Nov. 1.
