On Tuesday, March 11, Slaughter's 2nd graders performed excerpts from the book The Day the Crayons Quit with musical elements tied in such as singing, instruments and various dances. People often don’t realize there is so much more to music class than sitting down and singing for 50 minutes. There is movement, games, instruments, and so many other activities that the students experience on a weekly basis. Slaughter's music teacher, Maestro S, wanted to capture those moments and turn them into a performance to showcase everything that the students have been working on. Many of these songs were learned early in the school year, but classes spent all of February and March focusing on the songs and each color group’s spotlight moment. Maestro S is so incredibly proud of all the hard work Slaughter's second graders put forth. They did a fantastic job!
