The Fall Community Resource Night is intended to connect over 60 non-profit community resources with MISD families. This is a free event with lots of giveaways, food, hygiene products, face painting, balloons, etc.

McKinney ISD is using a new communications platform, Apptegy Rooms, to streamline communication and keep families informed about their child's education.
**What is Apptegy Rooms?**
Apptegy Rooms is a user-friendly resource that is available through the McKinney ISD mobile application that allows teachers to share important updates, class announcements, and school events directly with parents. With this tool, parents can receive real-time notifications, access their child's class information, and communicate easily with teachers, all in one convenient place.
**Key Features:**
- **Instant Notifications:** Get immediate updates on class activities, homework assignments, and important school news.
- **Direct Messaging:** Communicate directly with teacher, ask questions, and receive timely responses.
- **Calendar Integration:** Stay on top of school events, parent-teacher meetings, and other important dates.
**How to Get Started:**
1. **Download the McKinney ISD mobile application:** Apptegy Rooms is available for both iOS and Android devices. You can download it from the App Store or Google Play by searching for McKinney ISD.
2. **Create an Account:** On Monday, August 19, parents received a guardian invite directly from Apptegy from accounts@edurooms.com. The title of the email is McKinney ISD is inviting parents to claim their Rooms account. Follow the prompts to create an account using the email address used to register with the school.
3. **Connect to a Class:** After parents log in, they will be able to connect to their child's classroom.

Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year! We hope everyone had a great summer. We enjoyed seeing most families at "Supply and Say Hi Night."
Here are a few important reminders about Slaughter:
The doors open at 7:30 AM tomorrow for families. Usually, the front doors open at 7:15 for students to get breakfast. Only on the first day of school can all students and parents go to the classroom together.
Starting on the second day, we will implement our "kiss them and drop them off" routine at the Wolf Den.
Parking is available curbside in the streets or at the church directly in front of school.
Please do not park in the front circle drive to keep it clear for car drop-off families.
Please do not park in staff parking lots - we are fully staffed and all spots are needed for staff.
Additionally, please be patient with our front drive during morning drop-off and during afternoon release times. It takes a few days to get everyone back into the swing of things.
There is a new district communication tool called ThrillShare with Apptegy. Be on the lookout for an email from the district about about how to access messages from the school and the district via an app on your phone.
